G.Ford will be missed.
|
Gerald R. Ford, who picked up the pieces of Richard Nixon's scandal-shattered White House as the 38th and only unelected President in America's history, has died at the age of 93.Ford was an accidental President, Nixon's hand-picked successor, a man of much political experience who had never run on a national ticket. He was as open and straight-forward as Nixon was tightly controlled and conspiratorial. He was honest and straight forward ,something that the present presidency needs after the Bush term.
He took office minutes after Nixon flew off into exile and declared ''our long national nightmare is over.'' May hi ssoul rest in peace. He is deeply needed as USA needs to tide over nightmare sof sluggish economy ,Iraq,Iran and Afganistan.Sometimes simplicity is the best policy.
Ford revived the debate, Nixon , a month later by granting Nixon a pardon for all crimes he committed as President. That single act, it was widely believed, cost Ford election to a term of his own in 1976, but it won praise in later years as a courageous act that allowed the nation to move on.USA also needs to move on from the Iraq war crisis just like it moved from Vietnam war defeat during the term of Mr.Ford.this alone act signifies why USA needs a president like him ,somebody who is total anti -thesis to Bush just like Ford was to Nixon. In India if one needs a parllell then one can look to the leadership provided by Atal B.Vajpayee that was in total contrast to the dynastic ktchen politics of Congress.G Ford will be greatly missed.

Harry potter- last book has to answer many questions.
|
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-the the title of the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series is now known. now there are many questions that are to be answered in the last book.lets have a look at them--
Did Dumbledore really die.He might have survived?
In the last bok who is going to die-Voldemort (for sure),Harry ,Ron ,Harmonie?
What is aunt Petunia's secret? Is she a key character?-so far her secret was that she was part of a 'blood spell' that kept Harry safe.Is there more to it.
What are the powers that the Dark Lord doesn't have that Harry has, according to the prophecy?
Does Wormtail have a role to play in the end, like Gollum did in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy?
Why did Dumbledore smile when he learnt that Voldemort had used Harry's blood to regain his body and that He Who Must Not Be Named could now touch Harry?Does that relate to the power of love that Harry has as his mother died protecting him?
How did Dumbledore's arm get injured in Half-Blood Prince?
Who is R A B? Is he Sirius's brother Regulus Black?
Is Snape evil? What about Darco Malfoy?
How many of the questions above are red herrings? Rowling is a master at themThen a query is does the title indicate something about the book like Goblet of Fire and Half Blood Prince did.
all thsi is enough for one to grab the copy of the book as soon as it is out.
one last question why about reviving the series at a late satge may be with another evil power or by bringing Voldemort back when Harry is settled in his adult life. keep thinking.

do u believe in santa claus- ido
|
this is the question i was asked yesterday at the local church ,by a stranger, wehre i had gone to pay my respects to Lord Jesus. i said yes. he was then suprised to see that a hindu girl belives in santa claus, xmas, mother mary and birth of Jesus. that made me think.
i believe in Santa Claus and angles coz i believe in humanity and goodness and the just spirit of Christmas that is all about loving ,sharing and giving. Its about raising your hands to sky and asking the Lord for fullfillment of just desires and happiness. He is the embodiment of the spirit of selfless giving that is present in most of us.Infact all must believe in Santa claus. We cannot see god but can feel his presence in the environment around us.In hard times he tests our strength ,patience and our faith in him. only a true believer comes out a winner after toiling hard.faith heals biggest wounds.
the most famous, and popular, editorial of all time was written by Francis Pharcellus Church of The New York Sun and appeared on Sept. 21, 1897: in reply to a query that went as-
"Dear Editor,
I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says, If you see it in The Sun, it's so.
Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?
- Virginia O'Hanlon "
The reply of the editor was--"Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the scepticism of a sceptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours, man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge."
Wish Santa Claus comes with his reindeer to bring joy on face of many deprived souls. ?Merry x'mas 2006

kashmiri pandits
|
When to return? The question faces peoples displaced by violence all over the globe, but for Kashmiri Pandits the pangs of nostalgia are particularly acute. After all, Kashmir's green valleys, burbling streams, and craggy, snow-capped Himalayan peaks nestled and nurtured the Pandit community for thousands of years, until they were forced out with the onset of an armed revolt against Indian rule seventeen years ago. So the Pandits worry about what might happen were they to return to a changed Kashmir, and, at the same time, find themselves living unexpected lives in unfamiliar, less appealing lands.around three lakh Pandits still bide their time in temporary dwellings across India, many in just-tolerable conditions. And the longer it lasts - the more Pandits accept their exile, the more the next generation loses touch with its Kashmiri roots - the less likely a return becomes. Could the displacement of Pandits, and thus the loss of Kashmir's renowned culture of amity and cooperation, be a permanent condition? Only time will tell, but a return appears as far off as it's ever been.
the pandits are facing exile for no faults of theirs. why cant millitants understand that kashmir is also the land of pandits -that too from centuries and it was no forcible occupation. Let peace nad harmony return to the valley and let pandits live in their homeland -that has always been theirs.
its unjust to treat humnaity in this way.
