porn movies -a headache

recently i watched a documentary on serious malafide after effcets of illegal porn movies business in Inida. there have been incidenst of hotles capturing wedding nights of newly weds via spywebcams of innocent honeymoon couples. Then the cds are circulated in grey market. They sell like hot cakes. watching somebody's intimate moments of marital bliss(in many cases first intercourse ) on a cd.disgusting.then nubile girls aspiring to be models or beauty queens do it for money r are forced in lieu of a lucrativ emodelling or film contract.
Then there have ben cases of blue films made via hidden cameras of unsuspecting girls while changing clothes ,taking a shower.
Is this entertainment .certainly not? then why indulge in it.Infact this busiess thrives coz there is a thriving market for it.If demand dies then so will the supply.its a menance that's spreading fast.

papparazi culture in India

with arrival of liberlisation .media in India also grew by leaps and bounds .This fermented the page 3 culture and with invention of reality tv the death knell of classy journalism has been sounded.now anything to everything is news.whether what a film star is doing (with whom and when and where), what a politicain is up to(Most of them are corrupt so bribe taking stories are common),even local gossip has became part of locl tv channles.the only good outcome is that active media has highlighted some criminal cases in which high profile(read politically connected and richbrats )offenders had managed to dodge law courts via muscle pulling.
otherwise privacy has been totally lost.India is a nation of 1 billion plus so its the game of attracting eyeballs.even 1%TRP translate into a sizeable viewership meaning adrevenues.
the most funny example of it hs been the rumour of intended wedding of Abhishek Bachchan with Aishwarya Rai .So yesterday prime time national tv networks devoted their bulletins to the couple performing a puja together.Breking news was -"Ash and Abhishek have recahed the temple." If this wasnt enough then all morning papers had it as a headline speculating the wedding date.what have we become -a nation thristy of private iormation about celebrities. it doesnt affect our lives whom Abihishek Bachchan marries or for that matter anybody else.then why cant we leave them alone.

prophecy coming true in Nepal

Nepal, the only Hindu kingdom of world, is on road to democracy with Kingship being reduded to a ceremonial role in all likelihood.Nepal's King Gyanendra welcomed a peace accord between the government and rebels that may lead to the dissolution of the monarchy in the Himalayan country.
The future of the King's 238-year-old dynasty remains in doubt.
The settlement is in keeping with the ``nation's need and the people's aspirations,'' the king said in a statement

Under the peace deal, the Maoists are to get 73 of the 330 seats in the interim parliament. Koirala's Nepali Congress party will remain the largest bloc, with 85 seats, while the Maoists' number of seats will equal that held by the Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist Leninist). The rest of the seats will be shared among other, smaller parties.

After joining the interim parliament, the rebels are scheduled by Dec. 1 to be part of an interim government that will conduct crucial elections next year.
This reminds one of a old saying. When the present ruling Dynasty came into power then a old sage was insluted by then reigning monarch accidentally. So the angry sage gave a curse to the king that said only 13 generations of rulers will come from his dynasty and there wont be a 14th generation of king in Nepal. Also the reiging monarchs wont live long.
King Gyandera elder bother was the 13th ruler and was the first among many successive rulers to cross the age of 55.The highly revered king and his family were wiped out in a tragic incident soem years ago.King Gyandera is also from 13th generation. Now the days of virtual rule of kingship seems to be numbered.Loooks like the prophecy has come true.If indeed there is going to be a 14 the generation ruler then in all likelihood he will be a ceremonial head with little or no ruling powers.

why have we forgotten netaji

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose -worked all his life for India's freedom struggle ,giving up comforts of a rich family life, abandoning his wife and toddler baby girl for liberating India.Single handedly Netaji reached Germany ,via Kabul despite being palced under house arrest by British in India ala james bond style-changing get up and dodging British spies.
He raised Indian national army -including a unit of women soldiers that too in 1942,
set up govt.of free India in exile, gave India its tricolour ,
offical radio of free India ,offically sang Indian national anthem and gave India the shape of a sovereign nation. All a first for colonial India.he also organise dIndian dispora and got them to fight for their motherland .
During second world war -his army entered India to liberate it from imperial rule and planted tricolour on Indian soil.scores of Indians oine dhim in his endeavour. His cause was endorsed by Gandhiji during the 1942 call of do or die as Gandhiji himself wrote in one of his artciles -i will rather have India resort to arms to defend her honour then be a mute spectator of her dishonour.
when top army generals of his army were put on trial by Brtish then Nehru himself donned his legal robes after many years to fight their case and won it aginst British.
Such was the fervor of Netaji call of freeing India.
India won its freedom.all is fine .we are a great democarcy but we have forgotten the contribution made by this son of our soil. why have we doen nothing to give him his proper place and remeber him.should not we do soemthing to restore his legacy.at least we can give due accord to netaji only child-his daughter who is a proferssor.
